Judging dogs is simply an individual's subjective opinion of which dog best meets the Breed Standard on the day of the show.
Our Association uses the Great Dane Breed Council judging list from which we invite judges to adjudicate at our shows.
Our Premier show is usually held in March at the Kennel Club Building, but this year it is in August at the Holiday Inn at Crick, Northampton.
The clubs used to hold a summer show and most recently this was held at Bradfield Village Hall close to the M4.
At this show we used to enjoy a garden party atmosphere and a free of charge barbeque. This relaxed show was ideal both for young puppies through to your much loved veterans. Champions and C.C winners were not eligible for entry at this show.
However due to falling entries and support, the club made the hard decision to remove this member’s limited show from our calendar. So the last one was held in 2010.
This November show is held at the (ever popular) Cricket Connection Ryton on Dunsmore Please note that at all GDBOA shows rosettes and prize cards are awarded to VHC.
